WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE SHOP?

Everybody has access to our shop sites. You can see our portfolio and technical information about all standard articles.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF REGISTERING FOR THE SHOP?

For the time being we only register business customers. As a registered customer you can check the availability and prices of our glass, place orders for items, and see your order status. We reserve the right check and possibly decline registration requests.

I AM NOT REGISTERED – AM I STILL ABLE TO USE THE SHOP?

The Shop also offers all major information functions to customers who have not yet registered, except that you cannot place orders and cannot consult glass availability.

WHICH BROWSER SETTINGS DO I REQUIRE FOR THE SHOP?

The Shop can be accessed with all popular browsers. Some older browsers may not display properly. Please contact us if you have any problems.

HOW DO I QUICKLY ACCESS THE MAIN MENU?

Clicking on the SCHOTT logo always takes you back to the main menu. From there you can start again.

WHAT ELSE DOES THE SHOP OFFER?

In addition to the Shopping function, the Shop provides comprehensive technical information on our product range. You can check the availability of individual items, and also reserve currently unavailable items. You can see the status of your orders at SCHOTT Advanced Optics. If you have a consignment stock, you can check the current inventory worldwide.

HOW SECURE ARE MY DETAILS?

On the Shop homepage there is a link to “Data protection”, which provides details on our strict standards. Please consult with the relevant sales person if you have any questions.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

If you are already a customer of SCHOTT Advanced Optics, you need only send a short message to your responsible sales person and the registration details will be sent to you within 24 hours. If you are not yet a customer of SCHOTT Advanced Optics, please follow the instructions under “Set up account” to register as a customer and user of the Shop within a few days.

WHO CAN REGISTER HERE?

All trade customers can register for the Shop. If you are already a customer of SCHOTT Advanced Optics, you will already have provided us with your sales tax identification number. If you are not yet a customer, please provide us with such a number when registering.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY NAME, COMPANY NAME OR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED?

In the menu “Tools&Service” you can make changes under menu item “Customer details”. Since the details must be cross-checked with ours, the change will not take effect for a few hours.

HOW DO I GET MY REGISTRATION DETAILS?

After you have registered with us (via your sales person or the registration form), you will receive two emails. The first email will contain your user name. The second email will provide a link with which to create a password. Please be aware that, for reasons of security, this link is only active 24 hours.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY PASSWORD?

In this event please click on “Forgot password?” to request a link for setting a new password.

CAN I CHANGE THE PASSWORD OR USER NAME MYSELF?

In the menu “Tools&Service” you can change your user name and password under the menu item “My user account”.

SEARCHING/ORDERING

 

HOW CAN I SEARCH FOR ITEMS?

The Shop provides several Search functions: 1. Using the magnifier or clicking on the menupoint "product search" opens a window to search for glass types by name, by item number, or by the parameters you set. 2. Clicking on the tab “Optical materials” opens a general view of all items in the Shop. Pre-set filters help you limit your search.

WHAT DOES “ALTERNATIVE ITEM” MEAN?

Alternative items are not part of the standard range of products and do not continue in production after they have sold out. They are generally distinguished by special geometric dimensions and/or special price. All other items are produced as standard items on an ongoing basis and regularly restocked.

WHAT DO THE COLORED DOTS NEXT TO THE ITEMS MEAN (ONLY REGISTERED USERS)?

The colored dots indicate the capacity to supply the individual items: A green dot indicates the capacity to supply the item. A yellow dot indicates that the item is currently not available. If you hover over the dot with the mouse pointer, it will display the restock date. A red dot indicates that an item cannot be supplied and that there is as yet no restock date for the item.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ITEMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE?

Items that are occasionally unavailable are marked with a yellow and a red dot. The restock date is displayed by hovering the pointer over the dot. No restock date has been planned for items marked with a red dot. You can always order these items and reserve them in your name. In this case our customer service will contact you to discuss further details.

HOW CAN I ORDER SOMETHING FROM THE SHOP?

To place an item into your shopping cart, open the item by clicking on the check mark to the right. Enter the requested quantity and desired delivery date into the text boxes that are displayed. If you wish, you can have the price of the quantity displayed. If you want to place this quantity into your shopping cart, please click on “Add to cart”. This can also be done from the product details page.

WHAT CAN I ORDER FROM SHOP?

Currently you can order fine-annealed optical glass from the Shop, as well as different coarse-annealed optical glass specially designed for precision blank pressing and known as Low Tg glass (P series). Since the Shop continues to develop, more products will become available from SCHOTT Advanced Optics.

WHICH PRICES DO I SEE AT THE SHOP?

There is a separate price list for the Shop. The prices in the Shop are generally lower than outside of the Shop because our administrative costs for transactions in the Shop are lower.

IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM AMOUNT FOR MY ORDER?

A minimum order value of $1,000 applies for all orders.

I HAVE FILLED MY SHOPPING CART, BUT DO NOT YET WANT TO ORDER.

The Shopping Cart retains the products you selected, even after logging out. Please be aware that some of the items you have selected could sell out while you are logged out.

HOW CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

Please contact Customer Service for any cancellations. There is a list with the contact person responsible for you at “Tools&Service” under the menu item “Customer details” and item “Go to contact persons”.

PAYMENT/DELIVERY

 

HOW CAN I PAY HERE?

The payment conditions stipulated for you shall apply. They are displayed in the Shopping cart after clicking on “Check Shopping cart” and are also on our order confirmation.

HOW DOES DELIVERY TAKE PLACE?

The details stipulated for you shall apply to delivery (street, sea, air, forwarding company). They are displayed in the Shopping cart after clicking on “Check Shopping cart” and are also listed on our order confirmation.

HOW MUCH ARE SHIPPING COSTS?

The shipping cost provisions stipulated for you shall apply to shipping. They are displayed in the Shopping cart after clicking on “Check Shopping cart”, and are also on our order confirmation.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

After clicking on “Order” you will receive an order confirmation by email, and a bit later the official confirmation of order. This confirmation of order is a binding confirmation of acceptance of order and delivery date.

HOW CAN I SEE THE STATUS OF MY ORDERS?

Under the menu item „Tools&Service“ and “My Order History“ you can see all orders you placed worldwide at SCHOTT Advanced Optics within the last 2 years. Additionally, you can also download all important order documents that were created after April 2018.

 

I AM LOOKING FOR TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON OPTICAL GLASS – WHERE CAN I FIND IT?

The button “Product details” accompanies each item in the Shop, and clicking on it will transfer you to a page with all technical information. Under the tab “Details” you can download the data sheet, a collection of data sheets, the catalog of optical glass, and comprehensive technical information. Please get in touch with your contact person if you have any questions. There is a list with the contact person responsible for you at “Tools&Service” under the menu item “Customer details” and item “Go to contact persons”.
